1. Who we are

2. Data we collect

We only collect what you choose to send us:

• Contact & quote requests — the name, email, company and message you submit so we can respond.
• Recruitment — applications are handled by our careers platform (Workable); see their privacy terms.
• Technical logs — standard server logs (IP, browser, timestamp) kept briefly for security and diagnostics.

3. Cookies & local storage

This site sets no advertising or third-party tracking cookies. We use a small amount of browser storage that is strictly necessary for the site to work:

• Language — remembers your selected language (EN/FR/ES/ZH).
• Live-price cache — stores metal prices locally so the ticker isn’t re-fetched on every page, which also protects our data provider’s rate limit.
• Consent record — remembers this cookie choice.
• Video position — resumes the laboratory video where you left off.

4. Legal basis

We process personal data on the bases set out in GDPR Article 6: your consent (optional cookies, marketing contact), performance of a contract or pre-contract steps (responding to quote requests), and our legitimate interests (site security and necessary functionality).

5. Third-party services

We rely on a few processors, each acting under their own safeguards:

• Metals-API — live metal price data.
• Google Fonts & Font Awesome (CDN) — typography and icons.
• Workable — recruitment / job applications.

6. Data retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose collected or as required by law, then delete or anonymise it. Enquiry and quote correspondence is typically retained for the duration of the business relationship plus the applicable legal period.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, contact us at lab@bacheletgroup.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Autorité de protection des données, www.autoriteprotectiondonnees.be).
